Ophthalmology. Dr. Hovis joined Columbus Eye
Associates in 1993. Dr. Hovis received his
Bachelors Degree from the Brigham Young University
in Provo, Utah and his Doctor of Medicine Degree
from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston,
Texas. Dr. Hovis served his internship at
Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals and
completed his Ophthalmology residency at the
University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston,
Texas. Dr. Hovis is the past President of the
Texas Ophthalmological Association.

Dr
Learned is board certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. Dr. Learned joined Columbus Eye
Associates in 2003. Dr. Learned received her
Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M University in
College Station, Texas; and her Doctor of Medicine
Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston,
Texas. She served her internship at the Naval
Medical Center in San Diego, California, and
completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Naval
Medical Center in San Diego, California. Dr.
Learned practiced for 2 years in a clinic that
served 125,000 active duty, dependents and retirees
in rural North Carolina. Before joining Columbus Eye
Associates, Dr. Learned ended her 9 year military
career in the Navy as the Assistant Department Head
of a comprehensive Ophthalmology.

Dr.
Nayar is board certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. Dr. Nayar joined Columbus Eye
Associates in 1996. Dr. Nayar received a
B.A./M.D. Degree from the six year program at the
University of Missouri in Kansas City. He
served his internship at St. John's Mercy Medical
Center in Creve Coeur, Missouri, and completed his
Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas
Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He
completed a fellowship in Glaucoma & Anterior
Segment Surgery at the Conner Glaucoma Institute in
Houston, Texas. From 1997 to 2002, he served
as an Assistant Clinical Professor in surgery at the
University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston,
Texas. He has performed Laser Vision
Correction/LASIK since 1999.

Dr.
Nguyen is a Therapeutic Optometrist and is board
certified by the Texas Optometry Board. Dr.
Nguyen joined Columbus Eye Associates in 2006.
Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science of
Biochemistry from Texas A&M University in College
Station, Texas; her Doctor of Optometry Degree and
her Optometric Glaucoma Specialist Degree from the
University of Houston, College of Optometry in
Houston, Texas. Dr. Nguyen served her
externships at MacGregor Medical Association and
Naval Ambulatory Care Center. Before joining
Columbus Eye Associates, Dr. Nguyen practiced for 2
years at the Texas State Optical in Port Arthur,
Texas and the Lasik Vision Institute/American Laser
Vision in Houston, Texas; and then another 4 years
with the Texas Eye Institute in Houston, Texas. |
